Alexis Park School consists of 225 students from both rural and urban backgrounds.  Many of the students are bussed in from Westside Road, where the Okanagan Indian Band is located.  Over half of the school population has Aboriginal ancestry.  The school boasts a fabulous music and drama program, as well as a rich cultural program for all students.  The dedicated teaching staff offers diverse curriculum and learning opportunities for students.  Currently, Alexis Park has 10 classrooms in grade Kindergarten through grade 7.  We are pleased to offer All-Day Every-Day Kindergarten to children who will be five years old before December 31/2010. Alexis Park offers a Breakfast and a Lunch program, for students who sign up for this service.  This year, the staff and students are working toward three curriculum goals – #1: to improve students’ writing skills #2: to solve problems in a peaceful way #3: to improve students’ math skills by teaching outcomes they can be successful at.  All in all, Alexis Park has a lot to offer students and their families.
